This is a little different than our previous article, How to Post From Wordpress Blog to Your Facebook Wall. This article addresses the incredibly difficult process (to find, not implement) of cross posting automatically from your Wordpress blog to a Facebook PAGE.

1. Go to ping.fm and sign up for an account if you don’t have one. Copy your API key from here: My Ping Key
2. Go to Wordpress and get the Shorten2Ping Plugin
3. Download the plugin and upload it to your server and activate it like any other plugin.
4. You will now have a Settings link for Shorten2Ping. Click the link and fill in your settings. Click the “Notifications” link and paste your Ping API key in that box.
5. Now, you need a Bit.ly account. Takes a couple seconds and is free. I like to use the website name for the login.
6. Go to your account page here Bit.ly Account and copy your API Key.
7. Go back to your Shorten2Ping Settings in Wordpress and paste in the API under the “Shorteners” link and type in your username. Save your changes.
8. Go back to Ping for directions on integrating with Facebook.
9. Follow those directions exactly.
10. You can choose to have posts go to your Facebook Wall or your Facebook Fan Page or both.

That’s it. That should allow you to post automatically from wordpress to your Facebook Page.

Do a post on your Wordpress blog, then go to your Facebook and see the results.

You may want to do the same with Twitter and all the other social blogs that Ping supports.

How to get your posts from Wordpress to automatically post to a Facebook page is not exactly easy to figure out.

1. First, login to your Facebook home.
2. Go to Profile.
3. Go to Info.
4. Select the page you want to have your posts go to. If you don’t have your own page in Facebook, see our post on “How to Create a Facebook Page“
5. In the left column under your pages’ picture, select “Edit Page”.
6. Scroll down the page to the “Notes” section and click on “Edit”.
7. Now in the upper right region, there is a box that says: Notes Settings You are not importing notes from an external blog. Import a blog
8. Select “Import a blog”
9. That will open a page for you to enter the full URL of the blog you want to follow. Enter the URL and check the box confirming you have the right to allow Facebook to publish the information on that website.
10. Click “Start Importing”

Seems like everyone on the Planet is on Facebook these days. I don’t know if I’m personally into it, but you can’t argue the fact that Facebook can be used as an effective marketing tool for you website or business. So let’s explore how to use Facebook to help drive more traffic to you website.

First, login to your Facebook account.

Next go to:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

There is actually a set of tiny icons at the bottom of your browser window, not exactly easy to see.

Click the little “F” icon. This will take you to the “Ads and Pages” section.

Click on  the “Pages” link. Now you’ll see a “Create Page” button. Above it, there is a more prominent button that say’s “Create Ad”. Don’t click that one unless you want to buy advertising!

Click the “Create Page” button.

This is the Create New Facebook Page page. Choose the category for the page, then choose from the dropdown menu what type of business it is.
Name your page and make sure you add some type of tagline about what you’re offering or doing. For instance, this Facebook page is:

Type in the “captcha” text and then click the “Create Page” button.

This will take you to the section to create your new page. Now you need to add some info about your website.

In the left column, you’ll see a large question mark for your image. Hover over that question mark and a link will appear to “Change Your Picture”. Click that link. A box will appear, giving you options where that picture is going to come from. If it’s from your local computer, choose “Upload a Picture”. Click that link and a new box comes up for you to “Choose File”. Click that button and browse to the image file you want to use for your picture. Select the image and click “Choose”. It may take a few moments to upload.

Now you can select the “Info” tab near the top of the page and click the “Edit Information” link and enter the information you want. At the bottom of the box, click “Save Changes” and then go to the top and select “Done Editing”.

Now go to the upper right corner of your page and click the “Become a Fan” button.

You now have a page on your Facebook page.
